Add campaign tags to a link, edit existing tags, and copy a URL ready for your next campaign.

Defaults are saved only when you choose Save. The destination URL is never saved with them.

USEFUL DETAILS

Campaign links with clear labels.

Source identifies the referrer, medium describes the channel, and campaign names the initiative. Existing query parameters and fragments are preserved. Tag values are encoded for URLs and are case-sensitive, so use consistent naming. Save defaults only if you want them stored on this device. “Create QR code” passes your finished link to the QR tool on this site.

Quick start

  1. Paste the destination URL, including any existing query parameters you want to keep.
  2. Enter source, medium and campaign. Add term or content when they help distinguish links.
  3. Copy the tagged URL or send it to the QR code generator. Test that it opens your intended page.

Common questions

What are source, medium and campaign for?

Source names the referrer, such as newsletter. Medium names the channel, such as email. Campaign groups links under an initiative, such as autumn. Term and content can distinguish keywords or placements. Choose consistent names so reports are easier to interpret.

Does building a UTM link track visitors automatically?

No. This tool creates the URL parameters. The destination website needs analytics that recognises those parameters to report campaign visits. Existing non-UTM query parameters and URL fragments are preserved.

Can I change UTM tags already in a link?

Yes. Paste the tagged URL and edit its campaign fields. Use consistent capitalisation: differently cased values can be treated as separate labels by analytics. Saved defaults stay in this browser only when you choose to save them.
